Tutorial Review: Modular origami rings

Not sure which tutorial to try out next? The Folding Trees Tutorial Reviews are here to make your decision easier. For each review, we make a project based an online tutorial and report back on the difficulty, costs and time involved, plus any handy hints we developed along the way.

Notes on this tutorial

This is a great tutorial if you have a little bit of origami experience. The single pieces are not hard to make but I would probably recommend gluing the whole thing together, especially the bigger size ring (not shown) kept falling apart. The pieces of paper I used for the rings you see in the picture were only 40mm x 40mm.

Level of difficulty

intermediate

Time

moderate

Cost

standard stuff you have lying around; might have to buy some inexpensive bits and pieces

Get creative!

I have seen these made into necklaces and bracelets but you would probably have to coat them. Another idea would be to frame them or use them in a display.
