Flower Week: rice paper and paper models
This post is a part of Flower Week on Folding Trees. Every weekday, I will be showcasing different types of paper flowers. You may be surprised at the variety of flowers you can make using different paper craft techniques! If you know of any amazing flower tutorials I should include in my round-up, let me know!
Our Fun Life shows how to make these gorgeous realistic paper flowers using watercolours on Japanese rice paper:
Aren’t they lovely?
Or make a mini rose bouquet courtesy of the Canon 3D Papercraft site:
The Canon site has instructions, but, in case you don’t understand them, outofthewoods at instructables has clarified the process with a helpful tutorial.
Hope you like today’s offerings. Stay tuned for more from Flower Week tomorrow!

Help me!!! I have to make wedding favors out of rice paper my new daughter-in-law’s sister sent from Japan. I had found a pattern I thought I could work with, but now I can’t find it. Favors will be a masu cup filled with Jordan almonds and wrapped in light green rice paper with iridescent black ribbon (color scheme is supposed to be red, black and white-but rice paper is light green, pink, and lavendar!)
I thought I would make a rose or camilia style flower with edges dipped in red for the top of favor. But now I can’t find where I found the instructions. Help me please!
