Origami at the airport
While waiting for my flight to board from Pearson Airport, Toronto, last week, I saw a series of display cases with what looked like origami inside! I went over to take a look, and saw a stunning series of models called ‘A Pressing Engagement’ (hehe) by the Origami Society of Toronto. I snapped a couple of pics so you could enjoy them too (there were many more display cases, but my flight was being called so I had to go!)

Butterflies designed by Michael LaFosse and Akira Yoshizawa and folded by Lillian Grammer
Snowflowers designed by Philip Shen and folded by Peter Miekle

Peacock (traditional design) folded by Stella G from approx 500 individual units
Thanks to the Origami Society of Toronto for making the wait for my flight so enjoyable!

Cherry blossom

We at Folding Trees love sakura flowers (cherry blossom). These beautiful origami cherry blossoms were individually folded from 1.5″ squares of paper by The Flirty Bride and she shows you how to make them for yourself. It’d take patience to make this many, but the results are stunning! [via DIY Maven @ Curbly]
